Recruiting COINS Professionals

Since 2013, Rainford Berry have been Recruiting Professionals in the COINS domain. Across a decade, prior to COINS' sale to The Access Group, we helped the company to engage around sixty staff, the first of whom is still with the business today. On the back of that of that success, we were regularly recommended to COINS customers. We have helped large and and small construction companies and multiple homebuilders, as well as specialist consultancies, to find the COINS expertise that they need. Additionally, we have assisted a legion of COINS candidates in securing the career opportunities that they deserve.

01 What we do

COINS recruitment, done by people who actually know COINS.

COINS isn’t just another ERP. It’s the system that runs the financial, commercial and operational backbone of UK construction – and the people who know how to make it sing are a finite, well-networked community. We’ve been part of that community for over ten years.

We recruit across the full COINS ecosystem:

  • For end-user employers – contractors, homebuilders, civils and infrastructure firms running COINS in-house. From COINS Support Analysts to Heads of Business Systems, we know what good looks like in your business.
  • For partner consultancies – implementation specialists, project consultants and senior COINS Consultants. We place into the partner network on both permanent and contract terms.
  • For COINS candidates – whether you’re looking for your next move, weighing up a contract day rate, or thinking about the long-term shape of your career, we’ll have an honest conversation about what’s actually out there.

02 Module specialisms

Specialists across every COINS module

We place professionals across every part of the COINS estate. Below are the four module families where we see the highest demand – each with a dedicated career pathway and live roles.

COINS consultants we've helped place

Real moves, real outcomes. The names are anonymised, but the stories are exactly as they happened.

The career step-up

A COINS Support Analyst at a regional contractor came to us looking to broaden their module exposure beyond Financials. Within six weeks we had them placed as an Application Specialist with a Tier 1 main contractor working on a major infrastructure project, with a £12k uplift and the chance to deepen their CVR knowledge. Two years later they're leading the implementation team.

The contract specialist

A senior COINS Consultant with deep CVR and VAP expertise was approaching the end of a long permanent stint and considering going contract for the first time. We placed them on a six-month outside-IR35 engagement with a London-based contractor at £625/day, helping them navigate the IR35 conversation with the client and giving them the confidence to make the move.

The strategic hire

A growing housebuilder was scaling fast and needed someone to own their COINS estate end-to-end across the Plot, Land and Customer Care modules. We ran a short, focused search and placed a Group Systems Lead from a comparable housebuilder background, saving them weeks of generic agency noise.

04 Career pathways

Two paths. One specialism.

COINS careers tend to follow one of two routes – and we recruit across both. Whether you're early in your career and weighing up the options, or already deep in and thinking about your next step, the pathway pages below set out what good progression looks like.

Path A: In-house career

06 About Rainford Berry

Founder-led. Construction-rooted. Quality-led since 2006.

Rainford Berry was founded in 2006 by Ian Berry, an experienced recruiter who’d spent years building relationships across the UK construction industry. Two decades later, Ian and Marie Berry still run the consultancy directly. When you call us, you’ll speak to one of them.

We’re a quality-led consultancy, not a volume desk. We’re corporate members of the REC and abide by their Code of Conduct. We work closely with a relatively small number of clients and candidates, building real relationships over years rather than transactions over weeks.

That approach is what’s made us the COINS recruitment partner of choice for clients ranging from Heathrow and major Tier 1 contractors to growing regional housebuilders and the COINS partner network itself.

  • 20+ years across UK construction recruitment
  • 10+ year relationship with COINS
  • Corporate members of the REC
  • UK-wide reach from our Weybridge office
  • Permanent and contract placements

COINS recruitment FAQs

What is COINS, and why does it need a specialist recruiter?

COINS (now trading as Access Coins Evo) is the leading construction-specific ERP system used across UK contractors, homebuilders and the wider construction industry. The system is genuinely specialised, the user base is relatively small and well-networked, and the talent pool is finite – which means generic recruitment doesn’t work. A specialist recruiter who already knows the people, understands the modules, and has relationships across the COINS ecosystem will deliver better hires faster.

What roles do you recruit for?

We recruit across the full COINS career ladder, from COINS Support Analysts at the entry level through to COINS Consultants, Project Consultants, Application Specialists, and Heads of Business Systems. We work across all the major modules – Financials, Commercial (CVR/VAP), Procurement, and the Homebuilder suite.

Do you place contract or permanent roles?

Both. Many of our COINS Consultant placements are contract or interim, particularly at the senior end where day rates of £500–£700 outside IR35 are typical. Permanent placements are common at every level.

What does a COINS Consultant earn?

Salary varies by level and module. As a guide, COINS Support Analysts typically earn £36k–£48k, ERP Analysts £45k–£60k, Application Specialists £55k–£70k, and senior COINS Consultants £55k–£75k. Contract day rates for senior consultants typically range £500–£700 outside IR35. We keep this benchmark up to date – get in touch for the latest data on your specific role.

Where do you recruit?

Across the UK. While our office is in Weybridge, Surrey, we place COINS roles in London, the South East, the Home Counties, the Midlands, the North West, Yorkshire and beyond. Most COINS roles are now hybrid, which has widened the geography considerably.

Are you connected to COINS / Access?

We’ve worked closely with COINS for more than ten years and are publicly endorsed by their CEO. We are not part of COINS or Access – we’re an independent recruitment consultancy – but the relationship gives us unusually good visibility into both sides of the COINS ecosystem.
