Description: Our client is a leading supplier of finance and accounting services to the not for profit sector. They are not auditors but specialise in the delivery of outsourced accounting solutions to their client base and pride themselves on working with closely charities’ senior management and trustees, becoming viewed as part of the team, rather than an external supplier.
They are looking for a qualified, experienced, Practice Manager with knowledge and expertise in the charity sector to join and enhance their existing team. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented manager with real ability and ambition to join a specialist practice that is very well established, but still growing. Responsibilities:
- Running a busy portfolio of clients both as lead manager and overseeing other managers
- Management of team of 8 – 10 people including managers, accounts assistants and administrative staff
- Attendance at client Finance / Audit Committees and Board of Trustee meetings
- Arranging, preparing and running client meetings usually at client sites throughout Central London
- Meetings with prospective clients and writing proposals
- Management accounts preparation and review
- Preparation and review of draft statutory accounts and supporting year-end schedules for audit
Essential Skills:
- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA)
- Charity sector audit experience and a strong interest in the sector
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages including strong Excel Skills
- Ability to multi-task and service a portfolio of clients effectively and efficiently
- Excellent communication skills at all levels
- People management skills and ability to motivate staff
- Comfortable with ambiguity
- Ability to prioritise work and work to tight deadlines
- Team player
- Strong organisational skills
- Positive attitude and desire to drive the business forward
