There are certain key principles that guide our approach:
Flexibility:
We appreciate that it can be very difficult for candidates to meet with us during standard office hours – for this reason we are very happy to meet people in the evenings and at weekends. We are flexible too about where we meet; we are happy to meet close to your home or work.
Openness:
We are keen that our relationship with our candidates is real and based on reasonable expectations and a strong degree of openness. We do not wish to be seen as an agency that makes promises to candidates that it cannot and does not keep. To be clear, we do not regard a person as one of our candidates until we have met with them. This is of benefit to candidates as we can only fully understand their career needs if we have had a face to face meeting. It also fulfills our pledge to our clients that we will meet with all candidates before putting them forward for positions. We make a commitment to our clients that we will source candidates both from our growing database and by advertising their vacancies widely. As a result of this, we often receive a very high volume of applications (sometimes several hundred), in tune with our determination to set ourselves achievable targets, we do not commit to keeping all applicants updated on the recruitment process.
Listening:
We will listen to our candidates as they tell us exactly what they are looking for in their next role and we will discuss how we can help them. It may be that a person only wishes to be put forward to one particular role that they have applied for or, on the other hand, that they would like us to proactively market them more widely. We will agree the right approach case by case and follow it.
Advice:
We are happy to advise our candidates on their CVs and interview skills – however this is advice that is very much specific to each and every candidate. As we have said elsewhere in this website, we are recruiting at all levels of finance, so different candidates will require different advice.
Feedback, updates and ongoing communication:
We will endeavor to provide our candidates with timely feedback from their interviews with our clients and to keep them updated on the progress of the interview process. We ask all clients to meet with us to discuss each vacancy to ensure that we can provide our candidates with detailed briefings prior to interview. We will take charge of the salary negotiations for our candidates to ensure that their (reasonable) expectations are met. We will keep in touch with our candidates during their first three to six months in a new position to ensure that they are happy. If the candidate is not happy then we will do all that we can to help achieve a successful outcome. We will not shy away from this responsibility.
